I recently moved from Minneapolis to Chicago and I am learning where the best eateries are. When I was in Minneapolis I knew all the best restaurants. Now I am looking for the best steak in Chicago. I have visited many Chicago steak restaurants in the Gold Coast, Streeterville and Downtown. I am now trying to find my favorite places to dine in Chicago.
I am having a great time finding a steak house that offered great ambience, delectable steaks and good side dishes. I found www.beststeakchicago.com and it has been my ‘steak house bible’ ever since.
Two of the recommended steak houses are on my favorite list. They both cook the steaks to perfection, but one has a more modern ambience. (A magnificent view of the Chicago River adds to the dining experience and makes for a wonderfully romantic evening with the right person.) The other is a long time Chicago classic steak house.
There are three main ingredients to a perfect steak dinner;
The cut and temperature of the meat.
America’s favorite cuts are fillet mignon, New York strip and rib eye. All three of these cuts should be cooked rare to medium rare to gain the best flavor of the meat and retain the juices.
The appropriate side dishes.
Choose a baked potato, or twice baked potato. Enjoy seasoned and steamed fresh vegetables. Perhaps sautéed mushrooms to compliment your steak.
The appropriate wine.
A robust red wine is usually the best choice for a red meat dinner. In the case that you are not a wine connoisseur, ask your server to recommend a wine. They have been trained to know which wines go best with your meal.
One thing to keep in mind is that a steak has to be served and eaten right off the grill or out of the pan. Steak is not a good choice for take out or food delivery. If you live in Chicago use beststeakchicago.com as your guide to the best steaks in town.
Enjoy a variety of eateries, but always have a ‘favorite’ steak house!
