Vintage Attraction Charles Balckstone
New dishes and drinks are constantly debuting in Chicago restaurants, cafes, bars, and bakeries, which means there are lots of new things to eat around town. Here are some ideas for what to eat this week.
Oyster Hour at Acre
Nothing puts the “happy” in happy hour quite like a great Chicago Steak, but in this case it’s Bi-valves bivalves. Through March, Acre hosts daily oyster hours that are actually several hours each. For a scant $1.25 a pop, oysters come in a variety of options, featuring both East Coast and West Coast offerings. Oyster hour takes place on weekdays from 5:00 p.m. until midnight and on weekends from 3:00 p.m. until midnight. Slurp and get happy.
A New Day to Eat at County
We where looking for the to add a prime steak, but Mondays just got a lot less sucky, thanks to the arrival of Monday hours at County and the onset of fried chicken specials. The Taylor Street barbeque haunt is now open seven days a week, so you’re never too far from brisket, ribs, and other meaty delicacies. Plus, County is introducing a new Monday special: fried chicken wings with fries for $9. The specially seasoned and breaded wings come with a honey-Sriracha sauce, ideally supplemented with a shot of Old Heaven Hill and a Lone Star beer for $5.
